Cherishing Sweet Moments: Finding Strength in Love

Life with Multiple Sclerosis can be challenging but amidst the difficulties, there are precious moments that fill my heart with joy and give me the strength to keep going.

This morning, I had one of those sweet, unforgettable moments. My 4-year-old son came into my room with a big smile, climbed into bed with me, and said, "I miss you so much, a million!" His innocent, heartfelt words were like a ray of sunshine, instantly lifting my spirits. He snuggled up close, wrapping his tiny arms around me, offering comfort and love without even realizing how much it meant.

Meanwhile, my daughter was in the room, watching YouTube shorts on her phone. One particular video caught my attention—it was about racism, showing a privileged white lady harassing her neighbor. It struck a chord because my children have faced similar challenges. They've endured racist remarks, aggressive dogs, and even had guns pointed at them on multiple occasions. Despite these terrifying experiences, they remain strong and resilient, their sweet and caring nature untouched by the harshness of the world.

As I lay there, surrounded by my children's love, I realized how much these moments mean to me. Their presence, their hugs, and their simple acts of kindness are what keep me going, one day at a time. In those quiet, tender moments, all the struggles and pain fade into the background, and I'm reminded of the beauty and strength that life still holds.

It's easy to forget these fleeting instances of joy if we don't take a moment to record them. But they are the very moments that sustain us, providing hope and resilience in the face of adversity. My children, with their boundless love and unbreakable spirits, are my greatest source of inspiration.

Today, I'm grateful for the sweet moments that remind me why I keep fighting. As long as I have these beautiful memories to hold onto, I know I can face whatever challenges come my way. Life may be tough, but it's also filled with love, and that's what makes it all worthwhile.
