Embracing the Night: My Ongoing Journey with MS
Tonight, I faced a series of challenges that reminded me of the complexities of living with multiple sclerosis (MS). I woke up twice, startled by the sharp, unexpected pain coursing through my legs. It’s a mystery to me why this happens, especially since I hadn’t engaged in any strenuous activities—no heavy lifting, no long walks. Yet, my right leg decided to cramp, as if to remind me that my body operates on its own unpredictable schedule. After the initial shock of the cramp, I instinctively reached for my MS medication and some muscle relaxants, a routine that has become my nightly ritual. Despite the discomfort, I managed to get up, walk around a bit, and eventually drift back into sleep.
